Record the details
For each product record exact name, batch, opening date and manufacturer information. Period after opening and minimum durability are different reference points. Keep precautions when disposing of outer packaging.
Organise without decanting
Place open products ahead of reserves and keep labels readable. Avoid heat and light according to instructions. A new container may change preservation; do not dilute a product to rescue it.
Handle uncertainty
An unusual smell or texture calls for checking. No visible change does not prove safety. When opening date is unknown, record uncertainty and ask the manufacturer rather than inventing a date.
Separate stock and opened products
Separate unopened stock from opened products; do not transfer dates between them. Link photos to batches and separate purchase from opening dates. In shared storage, retain personal identification of eye cosmetics and tools.
| Field | What it records | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Batch | Production identification | Personal opening date |
| Opening date | Known start of use | Future tolerance |
| Durability / PAO | Manufacturer reference | Correct storage in every situation |
| Observed condition | Smell, colour and texture | Absence of contamination |

One lifetime for every product?
No. Formula, container, conditions and exact instructions determine useful reference points.
Can I calculate a date when opening is unknown?
Do not replace unknown information with a random date. Mark the gap and seek real evidence or manufacturer guidance.
