Create columns
Record brand, name, version, volume and observed price with date. Add testing support and context. Do not copy an advertised longevity as if you measured it.
Describe two moments
Write an initial impression and another later with actual time. Use personal words: quiet, dry, soft or enveloping. Keep preference and intensity separate; liking a scent does not mean wearing it everywhere.
Review before buying
Compare exact versions and use situations. Mark unknown cells instead of filling them. If liked only on paper, request a sample before a large size when possible.
Keep trials comparable
Do not merge versions under one name. Record changes in support, amount and context. A blank field is better than copying a review. Revisit notes later: a momentary preference and wanting regular wear are separate questions.
Prepare the next question
Add a next-question column: smaller size, dated price or sample reference. The notebook becomes a decision tool. Date answers; availability and offers can change without changing your scent impression.
| Field | What to record | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Exact version | Bottle name and designation | Avoid merging versions |
| Conditions | Support, time, place | Contextualise impression |
| Impression | Words initially and later | Separate preference and evolution |
| Observed price | Price, volume, date | Compare equal quantities |
| Missing information | Untried sample or unavailable list | Make uncertainty visible |
Your checklist
- Identify version
- Record context and time
- Mark unknowns

Should I record other opinions?
